It is not that I am in disagreement with you about observations that point to our unworthiness of the “sapiens” designation. As for “normalizing” the craziness, I am hardly a booster of humanity’s desire to conquer the Universe and refashion it for our singular purpose. The article was pointing to two very different approaches to the desire by some in the scientific community to make planets compatible for our future use either by terraforming them, or re-engineering us.

Once you understand that humans are “invisibly” insane (pink elephant people, see cited essay) you’ll UNDERSTAND (well, perhaps) why they, especially their alleged experts, perpetually come up with myths and lies about everything … including about themselves (their nature, their intelligence, their origins, their “supreme” status, etc).
