Hi Jaime, Fossil fuel subsidies although a relevant issue was not part of the story I was writing. My concern was focused on the limited initiative represented by tackling methane sourced from fossil fuels rather than looking at both that industry, concrete production and agriculture, the latter the largest contributor.
As for subsidies, in a previous blog posting here (see http://www.21stcentech.com/climate-action-network-canada-fight-global-warming-roadmap-country/) I described the action plan needed for Canada (although applicable to other countries as well) to minimize mean temperature rises to 1.5 Celsius. Point 9 of the plan begins with an immediate phase out of fossil fuel subsidies with an end point at 2020.
